Statistical dependencies beyond linear correlations in light scattered by disordered media

چکیده
Imaging through scattering and random media is an outstanding problem that, to date, has been tackled by either measuring the medium transmission matrix or exploiting linear correlations in transmitted speckle patterns. However, techniques require interferometric stability correlations, such as memory effect, can be exploited only thin media. Here we show existence of a statistical dependency strongly scattered optical fields case where first-order are not expected. We also that this dependence related information transport directly linked artificial neural network imaging scattering, dynamic These nontrivial dependencies provide key thick with applications for deep-tissue smoke fog.Received 12 November 2020Revised 19 September 2021Accepted 30 March 2022DOI:https://doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevResearch.4.L022033Published American Physical Society under terms Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license. Spatial quantum correlations in multiple scattered light.
We predict a new spatial quantum correlation in light propagating through a multiple scattering random medium. The correlation depends on the quantum state of the light illuminating the medium, is infinite in range, and dominates over classical mesoscopic intensity correlations. The spatial quantum correlation is revealed in the quantum fluctuations of the total transmission or reflection throu...
متن کاملFirst step immersion in interval linear programming with linear dependencies
We consider a linear programming problem in a general form and suppose that all coefficients may vary in some prescribed intervals. Contrary to classical models, where parameters can attain any value from the interval domains independently, we study problems with linear dependencies between the parameters. We present a class of problems that are easily solved by reduction to the classi...
متن کاملQuantum noise frequency correlations of multiply scattered light.
Frequency correlations in multiply scattered light that are present in quantum fluctuations are investigated. The speckle correlations for quantum and classical noise are compared and are found to depend markedly differently on optical frequency, which was confirmed in a recent experiment. Furthermore, novel mesoscopic correlations are predicted that depend on the photon statistics of the incom...
متن کاملCorrelations in Transmission of Light through a Disordered Amplifying Medium
The angular and frequency correlation functions of the transmission coefficient for light propagation through a strongly scattering amplifying medium are considered. It is found that just as in the case of an elastic scattering medium the correlation function consists of three terms. However, the structure of the terms is rather different. Angular correlation has a power-law decay and exhibits ...
متن کاملEngineering of light confinement in strongly scattering disordered media.
Disordered photonic materials can diffuse and localize light through random multiple scattering, offering opportunities to study mesoscopic phenomena, control light-matter interactions, and provide new strategies for photonic applications. Light transport in such media is governed by photonic modes characterized by resonances with finite spectral width and spatial extent. Considerable steps hav...
